 3. La maggior parte delle donne (e degli uomini) non vede i colori. Dovrebbbe chiedere conSiglio.

The majority of women (and men) do not see colors. Should ask for advice.   

4. RiCordate il 20% elle donne ha un complesso di inferiorità, il 70 % coltiva illusioni.

They should never go shopping with another woman, which sometimes

consciously and often unconsciously is taken to be jealous.

9. DovrebbEro comprare poche cose e solo le migliori o le più economiche.

They should buy a few things and only the best or the cheapest.

10. Non adattare mai il vestito al corpo, ma abituare iL corpo ad adattarsi al vestito.

Never fit the dress to the body, but accustom the body to adapt to the dress.

            

  11. Una donna dovrebbe fare la maggior parte dei suoi acquisti in un unico posto dove è conosciuta e rispettata, senza precipitarsi qua e Là a provare ogni nuova moda.                                                             

A woman should do most of their purchases in one place, where she is known and respected, without rushing here and there to try every new trend.

A really shocking life…Elsa Schiaparelli

Stravagante ed eccentrica, Elsa Schiaparelli è stata, insieme alla sua rivale Coco Chanel la stilista che stravolse i costumi delle donne nella prima metà del Novecento.

Nata a Roma il 10 settembre 1890 da una famiglia di intellettuali piemontesi,  si sposa giovanissima con il conte William De Wendt con il quale, allo scoppio della Prima Guerra Mondiale, si trasferisce a New York. A 25 anni e con una figlia chiamata Gogo, la stilista si separa dal marito e ritorna in Europa, a Parigi.Il fallimento matrimoniale congiuntamente alla morte del padre furono due eventi durissimi per la stilista ma è proprio questo il periodo in cui la Schiaparelli s’avvicina al mondo della moda . 


Quirky and eccentric, Elsa Schiaparelli was, along with her rival Coco Chanel, the designer who revolutionized women's costumes in the first half of the twentieth century.
Born in Rome on 10 September 1890 by a family of intellectuals, she married young, with Count William de Wendtwith which, at the outbreak of the First World War, she moved to New York. At age 25, and a daughter named Gogo, the designer separates from her husband and returned to Europe, in Paris.The failure of the marriage, together with his father's death were two very hard events for the designer but this is the period in which the Schiaparelli approaches the world of fashion.

Paul Poiret

Nella capitale francese conosce Paul Poiret ed ella stessa definì “colpo di fulmine” per la moda ciò che accadde nel visitare l’atelier del celebre sarto.

In the French capital she meets Paul Poiret and she herself called it "love at first sight" for fashion what really happened visiting the atelier of the famous tailor.

La sua prima creazione s’ispira ad un abito realizzato a maglia da una rifugiata armena con la quale inizierà una collaborazione professionale dove l’una inventa (Elsa), l’altra realizza. 

His first creation is inspired by a dress  made in knitting by a refugee from Armenia, with who it will begin a working relationship, where one invents (Elsa), the other makes.

Primo pullover realizzato

I suoi pullover lavorati a mano dalle donne armene vanno a ruba e le stampe sono rivoluzionarie. Sull'onda del successo Elsa Schiaparelli crea accessori sportivi e costumi da bagno tutti all'insegna della sua prima linea, il cui marchio era noto come "Schiaparelli pour le sport".

Salvador Dalì

His sweater handmade by Armenian women are selling fast, and prints are revolutionary. Following the success Elsa Schiaparellicreated sports accessories and swimwear all in the name of its first line, whose brand was known as "Schiaparelli pour le sport."

Quello della Schiaparelli è un caso emblematico: amica di artisti come Salvador Dalì, realizzò vestiti largamente influenzati dall' estetica surrealista, con motivi decorativi tratti per esempio da pagine di giornale o usando materiali come rhodaphane (plastica trasparente), metallo o la porcellana di Sèvres. E ancora accessori dalle forme più fantasiose, come cappellini a forma di bistecca o scarpa e manicotti ispirati al telefono. Il frutto più noto di questa collaborazione è l' «abito aragosta» del 1937, indossato da Wally Simpson pochi giorni prima del suo matrimonio con il Duca di Windsor. 

That of Schiaparelli is a case in point: a friend of artists such as Salvador Dali, created clothing largely influenced by 'Surrealist aesthetic, with decorative features such pages of newspaper or by using materials such as  rhodaphane (clear plastic), metal or porcelain of  Sevres . And even from the most imaginative accessories like hats shaped like a steak or sleeves and shoes inspired by the phone. The best known result of this collaboration is the '"lobster dress" in 1937, worn by Wally Simpson a few days before his marriage with the Duke of Windsor.

"Abito aragoste"

Ed è proprio grazie a Dalì che la Schiaparelli realizza il famoso tailleur nero con tasche ricamate a forma di cassetti. . Ci sono inoltre abiti con aforismi di Jean Cocteau artista internazionale della prima metà del ‘900 che disegna per lei profili da ricamare sugli abiti.

It is thanks to Dali, that Schiaparelli realizes the famous black suit with embroidered pocket-shaped drawers. There are also dresses with aphorisms of Jean Cocteau, an international artist of the first half of the twentieth century, that draws for her profiles to stitch on clothes.

Allo scoppio della  Seconda Guerra Mondiale, prima di rifugiarsi a New York, Elsa realizza la collezione "Cash and Carry" con capi pieni di tasche per permettere alle donne in fuga dal conflitto di portare con sé il necessario. Tornata in Francia nel 1954 scrive l'autobiografia "Shocking Life" il cui titolo rimanda alla sua vita sopra le righe e al suo colore simbolo, il rosa shocking. A Parigi, seguirà in prima persona la gestione del suo atelier, fino alla sua morte, avvenuta nel 1973 e lasciando un'eredità artistica inestimabile. In occasione delle presentazioni delle collezioni di Alta Moda autunno/inverno 1980-81, il Maestro Yves Saint-Laurent le dedica un abito appassionato dal nome "Les yeux d'Elsa",  "Gli occhi di Elsa" . 

Nel 1995 Giorgio Armani le ha dedicato l'intera collezione primavera-estate. 

At the outbreak of Second World War , before taking refuge in New York, Elsa realizes the collection "Cash and Carry" with heads full of pockets to allow women, fleeing the conflict,to bring with them the necessary. Back in France in 1954 she wrote the autobiography "Shocking Life" whose title refers to her life over the top and to her symbol color, the shocking pink. In Paris, she will follow at first hand the management of her atelier until her death in 1973 and leaving a legacy priceless art. During the presentations of the collections of haute couture autumn / winter 1980-81, the Master Yves Saint Laurent, dedicates to her a dress called "Les Yeuxd'Elsa", "Elsa's eyes."
In 1995 Giorgio Armani dedicated to her the entire spring-summer collection.

Proprio insieme a Chanel, la Schiaparelli fu una delle prime a capire che in futuro la formula vincente per la moda sarebbe stato il prêt-â-porter, da poter eseguire in serie. Ribaltando completamente le idee consolidate sul vestire, inventò impermeabili da sera, abiti in vetro, mantelle color rosa shocking con enormi soli ricamati in oro sulla schiena. A lei si deve il merito della divulgazione della cerniera lampo, più pratica dei bottoncini che chiudevano gli abiti delle donne. Realizza  collezioni a tema: Fermati, Guarda e ascolta, Le farfalle, Gli strumenti musicali, L'astrologia. La sua più famosa collezione, Circus, usa giocolieri, coni gelato, elefanti e trapezisti per sottolineare l'estrosità  circense.

Right along with Chanel, Schiaparelli was one of the first to realize that the winning formula in the future for fashion would be the ready-to-wear, to make in series. Overturning fully established ideas about clothes, invented evening waterproof, dresses in glass, hot pink-colored capes with enormous suns embroidered in goldon on the back. To her the credit for the disclosure of the zipper,  most practical than buttons that closed the clothing for women. Produces themed collections: Stop, Look and listen, Butterflies, musical instruments,  Astrology. Her most famous collection , Circus, use jugglers, ice cream cones, elephants and trapeze artists to highlight the circus flair.

La genialità e l'esagerazione di un artista che ha portato all'ennesima potenza il legame indissolubile tra arte e moda...la visione del reale o meglio del "surreale" prende forma nelle sue creazioni... Elsa Schiaparelli considerata l'antagonista per antonomasia di Coco Chanel, nonchè cooprotagonista con quest'ultima, del mondo della moda della prima metà del secolo scorso, è ancora oggi sconosciuta a molti...eppure il suo contributo al settore moda è tutt'altro che irrilevante... cosa pensate a proprosito??? un forte abbraccio kisses
